It has almost been almost 11 years since Robert Ford was named to the Astros radio broadcast team to work alongside Steve Sparks as the play-by-play commentator.
Ford graduated from Syracuse University in 2001 with his bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. Before he joined the Astros, Ford served as the radio pre and postgame host for Kansas City Royals games on 610 AM KCSP. He also has called more than 800 minor league baseball games during his time with the Binghamton Mets, Kalamazoo Kings and Yakima Bears.
Ford’s experience in play-by-play doesn’t stop on the baseball field. He also has extensive experience in college basketball, including calling game for ESPN.
