Reporter

Sydney Staples

Sydney Staples was born in Coral Springs, Florida, and raised in Front Royal, Virginia, with her parents, younger brother and four beloved dogs. She obtained her bachelor’s in Journalism at Lehigh University and is now pursuing a master’s in Broadcast and Digital Journalism on the Sports Media and Communications Track at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications. Sydney competed as a Division I soccer player at Lehigh and was a sports reporter and associate sports editor for the school newspaper, The Brown and White. She also founded ‘The Brown & White Weekly Sports Update’ and interned with ESPN+ Productions. Sydney’s passions lie with golden retrievers, Mario Kart, ice cream, tacos, polaroids and all things competition—there is no better feeling for her than beating her brother in soccer tennis, or any game for that matter. Her ambitions include working as an analyst for Premier League, NWSL and MLS, sideline reporter and host for the NBA, covering the Olympics and all four major tennis championships.
