Saral Khare

Saral Khare grew up in Seattle Washington. He first fell in love with sports when he was thirteen years old. He was browsing through his TV looking for something to watch and saw the New York Knicks were playing the Miami Heat. At that time Lebron James was on the Heat. Ever since then he became fascinated with the NBA. His high school years were filled with looking up stats on teams and stories. In addition, watching sports shows like First Take and The Jump on ESPN. When he finished senior his senior year he thought finance was the career he wanted to pursue.

He ended up going to Purdue University with his major being Financial Counselling and Planning. He initially liked the courses he was taking. He thought investment and insurance planning were interesting. But then junior year when Saral started doing his internship in a financial planning firm he realized this was not the career for him. He was pretty bored there and realized financial planning was not something he could do for the rest of his life.

When Saral was doing his internship sports was always on the forefront of his mind. He was always reading articles on what was going on in the NBA playoffs or listening to sports podcasts on his breaks. Going into Saral’s senior year of college he realized he should pursue his degree in sports journalism. Saral got into Syracuse University and thought it was the best place for him to pursue his passion. He’s been at Syracuse University only for a couple of weeks but in his short time there he’s learnt so much. He’s still learning about the broadcast business and is trying to get better.
