Luke Schwartz

    “See a need, fill a need.” - Robots, 2008.

With a pair of prescription glasses that turned his eyes from the size of peas to looking as if they were under a magnifying glass, the bright animation movie from Blue Sky Studios changed Luke’s life.

At eight years old, it only took six words to become his life motto. From being a three- sport athlete in football, basketball and track for 10 years to announcing baseball and lacrosse games, Luke realized his need was in sports, but most importantly, people.

Everyone has a story. A unique and colorful background that requires a platform to bring it from paint to the canvas. Luke loved the comradery of competing in different sports and getting to know his teammates, but when his playing career came to end senior year, he wanted to make an impact in sports without wearing the jersey anymore.

Broadcasting became that platform. A platform to not only inform, but to inspire. Using his personality to spread the stories of others and show through my words. During Luke’s four years at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington, he was able to connect with athletes, get creative without the necessary equipment and find his need in sports.

Luke cares more for others than himself. He continually tries to get better at his craft and make memories through smiling and being outgoing. With two amazing parents that taught him the importance of love and a big sister who has always had his back, Luke is working for not only himself, but the people that helped him get here today.

As a kid from the green state of Portland, Oregon, Luke is beyond excited to bring a mix of weirdness and positivity to the table from the environment he grew up in. Luke can’t wait to get to know everyone better and change the way we broadcast sports through the art of storytelling. Just filling his need one story at a time.
