A seven-time National Sports Emmy Award winner is headed to the Syracuse University campus. And yes, he is yet another one of the Newhouse School’s successful alumni.
Michael Konner is a multifaceted and accomplished leader with over 20 years of sports media production and operations experience.
Konner’s career began after he graduated from Syracuse University in 1995, where he received a degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism from the Newhouse School of Public Communications.
Konner worked his way up in the industry and landed himself a job as the Senior New York Producer for Fox Sports Network in 1998. He worked as the Senior Producer for five years before he was hired on, and spent another five years, as the Manager of Remote and Studio Operations for NFL Network.
In 2008, Konner began working for MLB Network where he began as the Coordinating Producer and rose to the role of Senior Coordinating Producer in the beginning of 2015.
After working in that role for a year, Konner made his way to NFL Network and still holds the position of Senior Coordinating Producer today.
Some of Konner’s most notable achievements are his work at tent pole events such as the NFL Scouting Combine, Back Together Saturday, Spring Training and Thursday Night Football.
Join us for the first Newhouse Sports Media Center event of the 2023-24 academic year and learn from Konner, who is looking forward to speaking with students about his journey from Newhouse to the NFL.
