Newhouse to welcome CBS Sports’ Amy Lawrence (’96)

The Newhouse Sports Media Center is excited to welcome Amy Lawrence, a 20-year veteran of the sports media industry.

Lawrence has been with CBS since 2013. Before joining CBS, she worked for ESPN Radio for nine years, during which she was the only female host. Along the way, Lawrence also worked at radio stations in Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York and Oklahoma.

In addition to hosting her own radio shows, Lawrence has served as a play by play and color commentator at several radio and television stations over the years. From 2008 to 2014, she was the voice of the University of Hartford’s women’s basketball team. She also called an NCAA Tournament Women’s Regional Final during her time working with Columbia University’s women’s basketball team.

Currently, Lawrence hosts “After Hours with Amy Lawrence” on CBS Sports Radio. The show runs from 2-6 a.m. EST weekdays.

Before attending Syracuse University, Lawrence earned two bachelor’s degrees from Messiah College (now Messiah University), one in communications and the other in accounting. She then earned her master’s degree in TV and Radio from Syracuse in 1996. A native of Concord, NH, Lawrence currently lives in New Jersey.

The event will be held on February 20 at 4:00 p.m. in the Ed Levine Conference Room (NH2, Room 463). If you require any accommodations, please contact Mylinda Smith.
