On October 11th at 12:30 p.m. in Newhouse 3 432/434 (I-3 Center)television executive, Michael Fountain, will speak to Newhouse students about his career and experiences working in the sports industry. The conversation, hosted by Gabriel Carr-Johnson, a student in the broadcast & digital journalism masters program, will be a joint program sponsored by the Newhouse Sports Media Center and Professor of Practice, J. Elliot Lewis, the Graduate Program Director for Broadcast and Digital Journalism department.
Fountain is a former Vice President and coordinating producer at ESPN, former Vice President of BET News, and former senior producer of the CBS Evening News. He has also held news management positions at WJLA-TV and WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C. He started his career as a production assistant, writer, producer, and executive producer at KDKA-TV and WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh. The conversation should be inspirational and informative for the Newhouse community.
