Matt D’Ambrosi is a native of Crofton, Maryland. After playing four different sports at Archbishop Spalding High School (Severn, Maryland), he began a nomadic college journey that started with a year stint at the University of Tampa.
While at UT, D’Ambrosi was a part of the first-ever NCAA Division II men’s lacrosse team in school history and was named to the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll after the season.
The following year D’Ambrosi transferred to Anne Arundel Community College (Arnold, Maryland). He graduated magna cum laude from AACC earning an A.A. degree in Transfer Studies before completing his last two years of college at San Diego State University.
While at SDSU, D’Ambrosi was a member of the men’s club lacrosse team and also co-hosted his own sports-talk radio show at KCR College Radio. He briefly covered SDSU softball for the The Daily Aztec in the spring of his junior year, and interned for San Diego Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer in his final semester of college. D’Ambrosi went on to graduate from SDSU magna cum laude with a B.A. in Communication in May of 2015.
In the recent months leading up to his studies at Syracuse, D’Ambrosi worked as a Sports Play-by-Play Board Operator at SiriusXM Radio (Washington D.C.), while also serving as a Legislative Intern in Congresswoman Donna Edwards’ (MD-04) Capitol Hill Office.
D’Ambrosi loves sports because they have the unique ability of proving over and over again that anything is possible. He is excited to begin his work at Newhouse and ready to break into the industry and begin his professional career.
