Jared Bomba is a native of central Pennsylvania, growing up in Lebanon County. He completed his undergraduate studies at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., graduating cum laude in 2015 with a major in history and a minor in Hispanic cultures. He was also a member of the men’s soccer team during his four years as a Diplomat. Upon graduation, Jared began working at F&M in athletic communications, serving for two years as the primary contact for the volleyball, field hockey, women’s basketball, and swimming programs as well as the softball, men’s tennis, and outdoor track teams. His responsibilities included website management on GoDiplomats.com, writing previews and recaps, broadcast production, on-air commentary, student employment, statistics, and record keeping as well as assisting in the everyday running of the athletic communications department. Jared’s soccer career included one of the F&M program’s most-successful periods. During his four years, the Diplomats reached two Sweet 16s and the program’s first Elite Eight as well as completing the only undefeated regular season in program history in 2014. His senior year he was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-Region team as well as All-Centennial Conference (CC) First Team, All-ECAC South Second Team, and NCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team. He has also played basketball, baseball, golf, and competed in track and field, and follows numerous other sports. He enjoys covering sports through written media, broadcast, and social media.
