Broadcast and Digital Journalism
Brooke Meenachan was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications with a minor in Communications at Youngstown State University. While at YSU, Brooke interned at her local television station 21-WFMJ in the sports department and as a production intern with ESPN Cleveland. She also started ESPN's Campus Connection Program while at YSU. Following graduation, Brooke volunteered at the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles announcing softball. She then found herself back at WFMJ as a Multimedia Producer. She also landed a job as a sports anchor doing updates at the Cleveland CBS Radio affiliate 92.3 The Fan. Brooke also worked for her local paper, The Vindicator, as a sports reporter. While pursuing her Master's Degree at Syracuse, Brooke continues to work for Fox Sports Ohio and SportsTime Ohio as a digital production assistant covering the Cavaliers, Indians, Reds and Blue Jackets. Brooke comes from a family full of sports enthusiasts. She played every sport imaginable growing up and continued her softball career on a full scholarship at YSU for two years before choosing to focus on her career. She hopes to continue her career in sports broadcasting as a sideline reporter.
